Welcome To Highlanders Goldens
Our bloodlines are well known for their longevity and excellence with children, and we are often complimented on their calm disposition. Training is a carefully integrated part of their daily routine. Our pups live with us, and they are handled slowly and gently. They are taught early to come, leash walk and to use a doggy door for potty, momma shows them the way!
Each pup is health certified by our veterinarian, and up to date on shots and dewormings. Our Studs are OFA certified and on site for you to meet. We raise American service and English Cream Goldens.

My golden Theo was born Aug 2020. He is the pup of Alastair and Vesper. He’s the best dog on the planet. His temperature is calm and eager to please. He has a great service dog temperament which is what I was looking for. He loves people and wants to be around them. He loves swimming and playing fetch. He has no major health issues and is very healthy. These dogs make wonderful home companions. Heather is loving and welcoming. We got to come back and Theo got to play with his dad and sister. It was a joy knowing where he came from and how loved the puppies are. I plan on buying my next golden (God-willing 20 years from now) from her as well. Once you find the best dog breed and breeder it’s hard to change. I send all of my friends her way. And Theo gets to grow up Boeing some of his siblings. It’s been a journey and I loved every minute of it!

I am somewhat biased, having the great fortune to spend time at the Michigan farm with Heather & Steve’s Goldens…by now, at least a dozen litters who came along while I was there, then found their forever homes. As proud owners of a healthy (and gorgeous) golden retriever from Highlanders’ Horse and Hound, it is my pleasure to recommend this outstanding AKC-registered Golden Retriever breeder. We can’t say enough about our Highlander Goldens. From our initial inquiry phone call with Heather to 2.5 years and 2 goldens later, it has been such a wonderful experience. Everything was simple and transparent. After our initial phone call, Heather invited us to visit her farm where we met our puppy’s entire extended family who live on the farm. Any questions we had or currently have, we are encouraged to reach out and she is quick to reply and to guide us with her knowledge. She is just as concerned about her pups as they grow up as she is when they are born.
Now about our puppies, Grace and Sadie, who are our pride and joy. Besides being AKC Golden Retrievers and coming from a family of on-site goldens, they have amazing personalities and easy, loving temperaments. Gracie (2.5 yrs) joined us first and her full sister joined us last October. While they definitely have different personalities, they both demonstrate high intelligence, fierce loyalty and sweet demeanors. Gracie is our old soul, all about the family, while Sadie brings the spunk and personality to the party. Both pups are the best of friends. My vet comments on their excellent breeding – beautiful healthy coats, body structure and temperaments. People in the street will stop us to tell us how beautiful they are – they are truly showstoppers.
